United – Kingdom
Any one remember this sad news articles coming from the one UK paper showing how other countries stop traffic for there fallen soilders and when showing the UK just a hurst stuck on a busy road in traffic?
Well look how united the nation was yesterday in Wooton Bassat, UK when the bodys of eight soilders returned from combat. Believe in the politics behind the war or not these soilders went out and done their job for the country and have paid the ultimagte price. Its finally good to see the UK come together for these men and show them how much we respect who they are and what they do.
It was a sad day for all involved even those who just saw this on the news. Try telling me you didn’t get a lump in your front or wasn’t remotly sad and I will not beieve you.
Wootton Bassett lies on the B3102, just off the M4. Repatriations ceremonies used to begin at Brize Norton, but in 2007 they switched to Lyneham while upgrading work on Brize took place. Local British Legion ex-servicemen in Wootton noticed the first trickle of hearses passing through, and asked the Ministry of Defence and RAF to give them more notice. Now they are told, and they come; members of the Legion from all over Britain, veterans groups, sea cadets, the local fire brigade, police, regiments, the TA, shop workers, townsfolk. Yesterday thousands lined the High Street in the biggest show of support yet seen in the small town.
Well done England for once I can say I am proud of our great and once again United nation.
