The Best JailBroken iPhone Apps
Yo fellow iPhone hackers and welcome to my latest post in the jailbroken iPhone category.
Today I will be covering a few of the best iPhone applications out there which you are able to use once you have jailbroken your iPhone. I hope you enjoy this selection. Please note this is all personal opinion if you have any suggestions on any applications which should be included or any applications you think I should try out please do let me know in the comments.
First off is the most standard applications which I have to mention, not the most interesting one. Here goes.
Cydia
Cydia allows users to add custom sources, so people can choose where to download software from. There are numerous sources available ‘officially’, in community source packs, and private sources can be added manually. This is a standard application on a iPhone which has jailbroken and is a must if you wish to download any further applications for jailbroken phones or any themes for your iPhone.
Here comes some more intresting ones.
gpsPhone
This is my favourite of them all this application allows you to play gameboy games on your iPhone and yes thats right I am playing the ultimate gameboy game on my phone. Pokemon. You have to download the game ROMs separately from the application (quick google search will find these for you). This application is rather diffcult to get working and may require you to view my article on how to set up and install gpsPhone. However once working this will grow to be the love of your life.
WinterBoard
Want to have a different wallpaper behind your icons? What about custom icons? Well this application allows you to edit all the layout of your iPhone with themes you can download and add to the winterboard through SHH or by going to Cydia to get them. Customise your iPhone and stand out from the crowd. Loads can be done with this application.
VideoRecorder3g
This beauty of an application finally gives you what you want from your iPhone. All other phones can do it so why can’t you. Video recording. This application has such high quality of filming and has various settings to change quality. The video recordings at the best quality do demand quite a bit of space but if you transfer them to your PC as soon as possible its not a problem. This application is however an application you need to pay an activation code for. Probably should share this…..but the code is: xumiqdikni - I hope you enjoy this.
NES
NES emulates the hardware in a Nintendo entertainment system, allowing you to play games on your iPhone as though it was a NES. This also requires ROM’s like gpsPhone. I will be writing a tutorial this week regarding this application. So you can enjoy the games. Just got to say if your a geek and/or a gamer this application is a must have on your iPhone.
PdaNet
PdaNet gives you the power of using your iPhone as a wireless or USB modem. Simply by adding a ad-hoc network on your PC or mac you can use your iPhones 3g connection to hook your laptop or desktop up to the Internet. So if your Internet fails or you are out the office this application will allow you to use your iPhone as a modem. I will also be realing an article regarding this some time this week.
PowerTool
This application is required to get some of your new applications from Cydia to work. Some articles out there will say you need to springboard your iPhone. This is what the application does. Not really sure about the full use of this application I jus need to respring my iPhone several times when installing applications and could not find out how to until I cam across this application.
iBluetooth
iBluetooth gives you the ability to finally send and receive flies on your iPhone over the bluetooth network. There are plenty of options in regards to security so not everyone can access your iPhone. The application allows you to send anything from photo’s to system files as you are given the full ability to browse your iPhone. Also all your photos on your iPhone are easily locatable. So finally send those snaps to friends and family and receive photos back to your phone of that legendary big night out.
Qik
There you all were still amazed that your iPhone could record video and bang! Here I am with this application. You are required to register to the Qik website. However once you have and got this application on your iPhone you can stream video straight to the Internet. Could be useful. Not sure how but I love this application and have it installed on my iPhone.
