The iPhone also comes with the new software version which has been cleverly named iOS (I really hope some one is not paid to come up with names). This software is a huge step up as is the phone.

There are 100 new or enhanced features in the updated OS, not surprisingly not all 100 were listed during the press conference but there were 7 key features or 'tentpole features' as they were called.

1. Multitasking
2. Folder
3. Enhanced Email
4. iBooks for iPhone
5. Enterprise
6. Game center
7. iADs

So what are these features all about?

Multitasking probably needs no introduction, it's what iPhone owners have been crying out for since the outset. The implementation looks good though.

Double click the home button and a window raises that shows me all the apps that are running. You can jump into the iTunes store out of the app while music plays... so you can buy music. Now when you're on Skype, you can switch to another app, and you get a double-high status bar.

Folder: Now rather than just organising your installed apps in different pages on the iPhone you'll have the ability to create folders to group things so for example: I want to make a folder with games in it. I have several games, so I just push my finger on an app, they start to jiggle. and I just drag one app on top of another and it instantly makes a folder.

Enhanced Email: The answer to Matt's prayers, multiple Exchange email support! Unified inbox with all you mail, regardless of the source, shown in one place. "Now if you want to focus on one account, we've added fast inbox switching. In addition we've added the option to organize by thread."

iBooks for iPhone: Little explanation required here but after iBooks debut on the iPad it seems logical to include on the iPhone!

Enterprise: Making improvements to the iPhone to make it more viable as an enterprise device.

"Here's some great features for enterprise. We have some really nice features here. Starting with even better data protection." Better data protection, mobile device management, wireless app distribution. Support for multiple Exchange accounts, Exchange Server 2010, and new VPN options.

Game center: "We want to make gaming even better on the iPhone -- so we added a social gaming network." "We have 50,000 games. Let's compare that to the competition... the PSP and DS... we blow them out of the water".

iADs: It may sound like some sexually transmitted disease but it's Apples new Mobile Advertising network. Simple structure and 60/40 split. "We have a lot of free or reasonably priced apps... we like that, but our devs have to find ways to make money. So our devs are putting ads into apps, and for lack of a better way to say it, we think most of this kind of advertising sucks."

Well since your love slowly started to dwindle out and then bang, out of no where HTC banged out slick phones with the best phone OS there is Android and your iPhone got dusty.

What if I told you, your sexy looking iPhone could run android, what would you say?

Well one young hacker has done exactly this - there are a few bugs as expected and runs kinda slow but it is running in debug mode.

So if they could get this working well and easy to install using a jailbreak method would you run it?

Fortunatly for people like us it does not look to far away from a jailbreak. It has inly taken 24 hours for hackers to gain access to the iPads shell over SSH and WiFi.

We are not yet aware of how this is done and I am sure a handy tool will be in the pipework so any semi technical savi PC user can do this.

Out of what I have seen the 4G networks being set up around the world has been pretty unsuccessful. Well we will have to see, usually iPhone products are announced in June.

Untill then check out this video that has been released, I am not going to lie I kind of  like the look and design.

In other news the site now has a mobile version to fix the layout errors. Also the theme has been fixed for users still using IE6 even when YouTube will no longer support you guys.

On iPhone there are main possibilities to stream videos directly online, record them and put them online later (for example when you are in wifi area and save money if you are on expensive data package) and also take photos and upload them online, so we have covered all three areas. If you already tried it out you could notice we put a lot of effort into video and audio quality (we refined audio filters in application using professional lines of microphones, but we did this with other phones which allows to plug the mic, but filtering coding audio is the same used in iPhone. This is also one drawback because it makes bigger stream that's why is slower transfer
comparing to qik.  To start using it is iPhone all you need as you can register directly inside app and start streaming around. This is very convenient as you can share with other friends and they don't need to go on website to register. We are trying to make it as much as possible user friendly and intuitive.  Also you can make your posts directly posted on twitter, by appending tw tag inside tags and is going to be posted immediately link on your twitter but this you need to connect twitter account on your profile.
So for web part there is advanced playlist editor for communities, simply create and make parameters also works for photos as you can make slideshows or mix both of them together. And after you have embed code to other sites and besides player you can have playlist or community library inside. Besides we have also Magellan feature, where you can see video stream shown on globe or on earth map, easily search them around based on location or see where are new streams coming from. You can also share video content to various services available online.

I have now got an account on both Qik and on LIVECLIQ. I know I will be using LIVECLIQ and my reasons for this are as follows:

• Video and Stream quality on each applications seem similar
• Audio quality is slightly better on LIVECLIQ in my opinion
• The website and application work and look a lot slicker and stylish than the services provided by QIK
• The ability to also take photos
• Finally the ability to record then upload rather than stream directly is a awesome feature

How to install on iPhone:

To receive this application on your iPhone your iPhone will have to be jailbroken as this application is not available on the app store. I assume this is something to do with iPhone 3G not having any video features on the standard Apple software. To install simply follow the steps below:

1. Open up Cydia (Usually installed when JailBreaking iPhone)
2. Go to the 'Search' option
3. Type on 'livecliq'
4. Select 'Install'
5. From here complete all the confirmation screens.

Once the application has been installed you will need an acount on the LIVECLIQ site. You can do this form the application or from your PC your call. I will recommend using a PC if you can as it is a lot quicker.  For all of you people who are concious of the spcae on your iPhone this application is rather small weighing in at an amazing 486.9kb

The site also offers great sharing features by allowing you to connect your account to twitter. I just hope with the website they do some URL rewrites to make the URL more user friendly. So links do not appear as:

http://www.livecliq.net/users/142004

Rather appear as:

http://www.livecliq.net/users/usernamehere

Before I go on to big this application up to much I will say that there some times are a bit of lag in the posting of pictures and didn't look like the application was doing anything but nothing a bit of patience will not resolve. Secondly I tested the streaming of this application over a strong WiFi connection and not over 3G or the Edge network. I will use it eventually I'm sure but I am going to assume these features work just as well as over WiFi.

Check it out and enjoy this apaplication and remove Qik from your iPhone. This application has huge potential so share it with Friends and Family.
