Gameboy Emulator on iPhone
Hi guys, after playing with my new jail-broken iPhone and rekindling my love for the iPhone I have decided to give you a tutorial on my favourite application available for the iPhone.
N.B you must jailbreak your iPhone or iPodTouch to do this.
Today I will be explaining how to install a Gameboy emulator on your iPhone called gpsPhone and how to install the correct framework and getting the Gameboy ROM's on to the iPhone without the need for logging in to your iPhone with an SSH client.
To install the application gpsPhone please follow the steps below:
- Open Cydia on your iPhone
- When Cydia loads select the option 'Manage'
- Then select 'Sources'
- Go to Edit
- Then Add
- And add the source http://apt.123Locker.com
- When source is added select to return to Cydia
- Go to manage and then sources
- Select from the menu '4pp13 Team Reposity'
- Now download gpsPhone from this menu.
You now have the application to run the emulator however the application does not come with any ROMs (games) to play or the framework so the application and ROM's do actually function.
- You will therefor be required to download the framework from the same location you got gpsPhone from in the aboe steps.
- The file you want to download is called 'GBA BIOS file'
Once this is installed your application is ready to play ROM's on your iPhone. The question now is 'How do I put ROM's on my iPhone. Well there is two ways I will cover the simple way now but will explain using SSH in a future tutorial and how to set up GBA ROM's for playing.
- In the same location as the above two applications/files you have installed on your phone are packages. These packages are large as they hold a variety of different games so will require a wifi connection to do this.
- You can choose ROM's to download such as 'GBA ROM's Package 1 (A-B)
This is the simplest method of getting a Gameboy emulator on your phone. If you have any questions or queries please do not hesitate to contact us. I will film a short tutorial to accompany this shortly I will do this between playing Pokemon on my iPhone.

okay well ive done everything up to the point of installing ‘GBA BIOS file’ and well when i click install a message pops up that says “http://cydia.zodttd.com HTTP/1.0 403 Forbidden” hmm please help? =/ (prefer email if thats alright)

I have a problem, I’ve installed it properly but when putting the onto it, they don’t show up in the ‘Browse’ screen. Any ideas?
I had the same problem before. It was caused by putting the ROM’s in the wrong folde. Log in to your iPhone using SSH and snoop around untill you find the coreect folder.
Sorry cannot be much help atm. Not got iPhone or access to SSH with me at the moment to find the direct link for the DIR needed.
Hi i did all of this and installed fine but when i go to play pokemon (any version) i get a black screen
sorry, but gbSP requires a gameboy advance image to run correctly etc

I have rock not cydia because rock is so much better but can you explain how to get it through Rock?
I’ve just downloaded gpsPhone from Cydia and both the BIOS and ROMS from the source above- but the app tells me I have the incorrect bios and won’t do anything- the buttons down even work. Help please- I’ve wasted $5.25 on Cydia otherwise!

At this step “gpsPhone” is not listed!
Whenever I try and download the bios it says forbidden plleeeeeeeeeesa help !!!!!!
there is no gps phone listed on the menu can u help?
i have the same problem as ed, when i try to install GBA BIOS file it comes up with a forbidden warning an wont install, what do i do??
